Manitoba health officials say seven more people have contracted the novel coronavirus, bringing the province’s total to 103.

“It is within our range of projections at this stage,” said Dr. Brent Roussin, the province’s chief public health officer. “This is within things that we were expecting.”

Manitoba currently has 103 probable and confirmed cases of COVID-19. One person has died. Three people are currently in hospital, two in ICU, and four people have recovered.

A staff member at Selkirk Regional Health Centre has tested positive for COVID-19, said Roussin. read more

New Brunswick officials provided an update on the province’s ongoing efforts to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Jennifer Russell, New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health, said on Tuesday that there are two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province, bringing the total province-wide to 70. One case is travel-related and the other is a contact of another person with the virus, Dr. Russell told reporters.

Also, during the press conference, Premier Blaine Higgs said the province is currently in the process of “enhancing” their pandemic operational plan. He added that the plan will provide additional details and guidance on how the province will respond to an increase in COVID-19 cases going forward. read more

Nova Scotia’s Premier Stephen McNeil, joined by Dr. Robert Strang, the province’s chief medical officer of health, hold the province’s daily coronavirus briefing.

On Monday, Dr. Strang announced five new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in Nova Scotia to 127.

He said one of the cases under investigation is now confirmed to be a case of community spread, as there were no direct links to travel or any previous cases.

Dr. Strang said the community transmission case was not a surprise and that public health expects to see more community cases as time moves along. read more

Premier McNeil and Dr. Strang provide an update about #COVID19NS including information on 20 new cases. Nova Scotia has 147 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Most cases are connected to travel or a known case but yesterday public health concluded that one case is the result of community transmission.

Quebec’s Premier François Legault, along with Dr. Horacio Arruda, Quebec director of National Public Health and Danielle McCann, Quebec’s health and social services minister hold the province’s daily coronavirus update.

On Monday, Premier Legault announced three new deaths due to COVID-19 in Quebec, bringing the total number of deaths in the province to 25.

He also announced 590 new cases of COVID-19, with a total of 3,430 province-wide.

Premier Legault also stressed to Quebecers to reach out and seek mental health assistance if they feel they need it during these times of self-isolation and social distancing. read more

Amid apprehensions of substantial spread of COVID-19 after a religions congregation in Nizamuddin in the national capital left many infected with the virus, the Health Ministry on Tuesday said it was not the time to find faults but to take action. The Delhi Police has cordoned off a major area in Nizamuddin West here where many people showed symptoms of coronavirus after taking part in the Tabligh-e-Jamaat held earlier this month that was attended by over 2,000 people. “With respect to the Nizamuddin area, we all need to understand and appreciate that this is not the time to do fault finding. What is important for us is to take action as per our containment process in whatever areas we find a case,” Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary in the Health Ministry, said at a press briefing. read more

The death toll in the Philippines due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) climbed to 88 on Tuesday after the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed 10 more fatalities.
