New Brunswick officials provided an update on the province's ongoing efforts to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Jennifer Russell, New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health, said on Tuesday that there are two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province, bringing the total province-wide to 70. One case is travel-related and the other is a contact of another person with the virus, Dr. Russell told reporters.

Also, during the press conference, Premier Blaine Higgs said the province is currently in the process of "enhancing" their pandemic operational plan. He added that the plan will provide additional details and guidance on how the province will respond to an increase in COVID-19 cases going forward.
