President Donald Trump announced tonight that the federal government is sending several hundred additional ventilators to states hit hard by the coronavirus outbreak.
Trump during a White House briefing said that over the last 24 hours, the federal government has delivered an additional 500 ventilators to New Jersey, which is among the hardest-hit states. He said it also has sent 200 ventilators to Louisiana and 300 to Michigan. Another 600 have gone to Illinois, he said, while Massachusetts will be getting 100.

White House coronavirus task force provides an update on Sunday, April 5th, as cases of COVID-19 across the United States top 330,000 and the death toll approaches 10,000.
This evening, from Windsor Castle, Queen Elizabeth II delivered a hopeful but cautious address to the U.K. while Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been taken to the hospital with increased severity of symptoms, 10 days after he was diagnosed with COVID-19.

Americans know they are facing a threat, but they aren’t sure exactly how it may impact the economy, the country’s politics or society at large. Public health officials can’t say when social distancing or quarantines will end. Some people don’t know whether they’ll have a job to go back to or a business to reopen. In her powerful address – one of four formal statements she’s given in her 68-year-reign – she said the nation may “have more still to endure” but “we will overcome it”.
The Queen has delivered a historic, stirring address to the nation during the coronavirus lockdown. Invoking wartime spirit, the 93-year-old monarch told Britons “we will succeed”, adding that “better days will return”.
In the extraordinary televised speech, only the fourth the Queen has given during times of crisis or grief, she thanked NHS staff and key workers, while emphasising the important role individuals can play.
Recalling the first address she made at just 14 years old in 1940 to wartime evacuees, she said: “Today, once again, many will feel a painful sense of separation from their loved ones. But now, as then, we know, deep down, that it is the right thing to do.”
