Oh snap! You're watching Rich TVX News Network! The source of raw, breaking news.

I picked this yard tractor for free as the owner said both connecting rods were broken. I removed the engine and flipped it upside down and removed the sump cover to discover the condition of the connecting rods. Can this engine be saved?

thanks to @isavetractors for the #isavetractors hat and

In this 2nd episode of my GT6000 garden tractor, I flip it on its side to inspect why this thing doesnt steer. Not only is the sector missing 3 teeth, but the rack and pinion swivel shaft is also seized from years and years of rust build up. I disassemble the entire steering assembly to get it to steer again.

After installing the engine from my craftsman LTV10 lawn tractor, I received my new flywheel, after installed it doesnt seem to charging at full 12 volts. As suspected, the stator was damaged from the DYT4000, therefore, I had to order a new stator. While I wait for it to arrive, I live up and free the pulleys and spindles on the mower deck and install it. Aside from the stator, this tractor is now alive again. I will sell this along with the matching dump trailer and install the snow plow on my GT6000. read more

In a previous episode, I attempt to weld blobs of flux metal to replace 3 missing teeth on my steering sector gear. While it worked for a while, the torque of steering merely grinded down the teeth that were meant to be cast iron strength. The stock original steering sector is extremely rare and hard to find. I did find one for $120 which I wasnt willing to pay. There were similar gears that are attached to a different linkage but I grinded the rivets off and welded onto my linkage. The part only cost $25 and now my steering is just like new. read more

I picked another free lawn tractor with trailer. The engine runs but there may be an issue with the transmission as it’s very hard to shift. It did not come with a battery and the steeri g sector may have stripped teeth. Nevertheless, the tractor has a working engine and has good wheels which I could always use should I scrap it. I will get it running though and figure out if it’s a salvageable tractor after I do an engine swap on the other free Craftsman LT1500 I got the other day. One tractor resurrection at a time. read more

in episode 3 here , i tear down the head on the yt3000 and replace the head gasket that blew that u saw in episode 1 and 2 that was smoking bad , after i replace the head gasket and clean up all the carbon buildup , it runs good now thank to @donECHOguy and @bronzechicken and well as @ellismowers and Henry from @mowersnblowers for the tips.

In this video, I share my experiences with a free Craftsman lawn mower that I found on the side of the road. The Mower is a Craftsman with a 7.25hp Briggs Engine.

The previous owner had trashed it because it had a sheared blade bolt prohibiting the attachment of a blade. We extract the sheared blade bolt by drilling it out and replace the following parts:

Husqvarna Blade Adapter 581473301
Husqvarna Blade Bolt 532851074
Husqvarna Washer 532851084
Husqvarna Lock Washer 539990118

In addition, we gave the unit a general tune up including an oil change, a new air filter, and a new spark plug. We cleaned the unit up and prepared it for a quick sale on Facebook Marketplace. read more

After the engine repower install, the fuel adjustment screw broke off this my not being able to adjust the fuel mixture. I summarily decided to swap out the carb for the original Scott Keller engine carburetor.

The engine surged quite a bit and wouldnt idle well so the carb swap was a must. The oil was terrible, one of the worst I’ve ever seen and it needed a change. Some of my subscribers told me to adjust the valves however, I didnt feel the need to, but nonetheless, I did it and it needed a small adjustment. The headlight harness was not hooked up so I installed the headlights and cleaned the lenses. I also installed a fuel shut off valve because it is a gravity fed gas tank and it ensures gas will not over flow to the crankcase. I do suspect the needle is not seating correctly and I may have to take the carb apart again. The combustion chamber flooded with gas and in had to relieve it by removing the spark plug and cranking it to blow the hydro lock out to start. read more

Today, I button up a few machines that need attention. 3 craftsman lawnmowers that need some tlc are fixed and ready for sale. I install a free bagger system on a craftsman LT1000 lawn tractor as well as adjust the governor and throttle linkage to fix surging issue.

I got this carcass of crap from my friend Nick from Medford. This LT1000 is a hydrostatic lawn tractor and is rusty but not rotted. The deck is intact and complete. The front transaxle was bent and fortunately I had spare parts to repair the entire front end. Given, the repair went so well, I’m inclined to continue use with the rebuilding of this tractor to operational. It would be a good challenge.

After my hand injury, it bothered me that I screwed up that main jet accident and I wasnt able to get that carburetor going. While my hand still hurts, I think my ultrasonic cleaner and help me a bit. I screwed that main jet back in and blew out the holes with @lucasoil brake parts cleaner and dunked the carb into my ultrasonic cleaner. I blew out all the holes again with an air compressor and guess what? Will it run?

I was browsing through Craigslist and saw someone giving away 3 lawn tractors. The problem was, there was no address, just a vague map with a town vicinity. The other problem was that they were already on the curb and it’s about 40 mins away. The chances I would scoop up at least 1 of them was not looking likely. About 2 hours later, he posted a cross street which made me go out and try to grab one.

I was lucky enough to get the last one still sitting there around midnight. The next day I started to troubleshoot it and get it started. As you will see, I injured my hand which pretty much put an end to my day. read more

While test driving forward and reverse, I noticed it wasnt stopping well using the brake pedal. I suspected it needed an adjustment and / or new brake pads. It also had trouble starting sometimes due to too much compression. A valve adjustment fixed the issue.

Converting a rear gas tank lawn tractor to a gravity fed fuel tank required a battery relocation and removing the rear gas tank to accommodate the battery. Many subscribers told me that my initial set up where I simply lowered the battery and put the gas tank directly above it was unsafe. Since I had never removed the rear fenders and relocated battery cables before, I thought it would be an interesting video, so I decided to do what my subscribers want. It was interesting and fun.

Nick Ierardi gave me a tip on a tractor that the owner wanted gone, since he couldn’t get it himself, he gave me the opportunity to have it. I also sold the hood for $75 from my toro 1238xl that I picked off the curb for free. The tractor is very rough, but the engine turns over!

Will the craftsman run?
