Manitoba health officials provided an update on the most recent numbers of COVID-19 cases in the province and the government’s ongoing response to the pandemic on Friday.

Dr. Brent Roussin, the province’s chief medical health officer, reported that no new cases of coronavirus have been found in Manitoba, keeping the case numbers at 294.

Seven people have died, while 273 people have recovered.

Shared Health’s Chief Nursing Officer Lanette Siragusa said due to the pandemic, wait times in hospitals are “historically low,” and that on average, people are waiting in hospital emergency rooms for only 38 minutes.

The province will ease restrictions on Monday as Manitoba moves into Phase 2 of its reopening plan.
