Coronavirus outbreak: B.C. reports lowest case increase in COVID-19 in weeks | FULL

British Columbia’s provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reported 29 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the province’s total to 1,203 cases. This is the lowest increase B.C. has seen in weeks, but Henry said she’s not claiming victory yet.

“I don’t think I’m ready to say anything is a ‘win’ yet, but every day that we have been bending that curve is a good thing,” Henry said.

Three more people have died from the novel coronavirus in B.C., raising the death toll to 35.

Henry said outbreaks have been identified at 23 long-term care facilities across the province. The majority of the province’s deaths from COVID-19 have been linked to at least two seniors’ homes.
