President Donald Trump unveiled broad new federal guidelines Thursday laying out conditions for parts of the U.S. to start relaxing the strict measures imposed to try to slow the spread of the coronavirus. The Covid-19 outbreak has spread to dozens of countries globally, with more than 671,425 cases in the United States and at least 33,286 deaths, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

President Trump unveiled a three-phase plan to reopen the U.S. economy Thursday and “begin the next front in our war” that would let states and employees abandon most social distancing rules within four weeks.

Under Trump’s “Opening Up America Again” plan, areas with a “downward trajectory” in cases could begin phase one “literally tomorrow” and move to the next after 14 more days of declining cases. It recommends employers implement temperature screenings and virus testing at workplaces. read more
