Southern California has been smashed by its most powerful earthquake in twenty years, right in the middle of celebrations for the 4th of July.
The quake was damaging enough, but then came the aftershocks, more than a hundred, emergency crews racing to contain the disaster.

A Royal Navy ship reportedly aimed its guns at Iranian boats after they attempted to seize a British oil tanker. HMS Montrose was escorting the British Heritage tanker through the Persian Gulf when the stand-off with five Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps boats took place on Wednesday, according to CNN. It is claimed the boats told the tanker to change course and enter Iran’s territorial waters, with a US aircraft recording the incident. HMS Montrose, which was trailing the tanker, then trained its guns on the Iranian vessels and warned them to back off. The Iranian boats obeyed the frigate’s instructions, which were issued over the radio. Britain’s Ministry of Defence had no immediate comment. Thirty British commandos stormed an Iranian oil tanker bound for Syria last week, prompting Iran’s President to threaten the UK with retaliatory action. Iran was accused of attacks on six tankers either in or near the Strait of Hormuz in the last few months. The US and Saudi Arabia, its major ally in the Middle East, blamed Iran for the incidents, although Tehran denied responsibility. Tensions between Iran and the US increased last month when the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps shot down an American drone. In our news wrap Thursday, a powerful earthquake shook Southern California. The magnitude 6.4 quake, the strongest the area has felt in 20 years, was centered about 150 miles northeast of Los Angeles. Experts warned strong aftershocks could follow. Also, British Marines in Gibraltar seized an Iranian oil tanker suspected of violating European sanctions against Syria, for which it was bound.

Lil Uzi Vert fans have anxiously been awaiting his second studio album, ‘Eternal Atake,’ since the project was first announced in July 2018. A few months later, Uzi dropped what seemed to be the lead single, “New Patek,” prior to expressing frustration with his label toward the end of the year. By the top of 2019, Uzi had announced his retirement. In late March, however, there seemed to be a ray of light with the release of “Free Uzi.” Uzi dropped two more songs in April, “Sanguine Paradise” and “That’s a Rack,” which have given fans hope that Eternal Atake is closer to release.
Iran tries to seize British tanker in Strait of Hormuz | DW News
Britain says three Iranian boats tried to intercept a British oil tanker near the Persian Gulf in the Strait of Hormuz. London says they were driven off by a Royal Navy frigate – the HMS Montrose – escorting the tanker in the Strait of Hormuz. The frigate aimed its deck guns at the Iranian boats as a warning. No shots were fired. Iran has denied that its vessels tried to stop the tanker, saying they were carrying out routine duties. The incident comes after a warning yesterday from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. He said that Iran was ready to retaliate after one of its oil tankers was seized off the coast of Gibraltar last week. The UK claims the Iranian tanker was delivering oil to Syria in violation of European Union sanctions.The British government called for calm after the incident.
