South Korea’s reported cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 nearly doubled, to more than 200. Most of the new cases are members of a religious sect, the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, and are centered in the city of Daegu. The outbreak makes South Korea the worst-affected country outside China. China has reported an uptick in coronavirus cases, with more than 400 new infections in Chinese prisons alone. Globally, the viral outbreak has infected some 76,000 people and killed more than 2,200. Meanwhile, there have been violent clashes in Ukraine over fears that evacuees arriving in the country from China were infected with the coronavirus.
Italy has announced its second death from the coronavirus as the number of cases in the country more than quadruples. The World Health Organization has warned that the window of opportunity to contain a wider international spread of the epidemic is closing, and urged governments around the globe to act quickly as new cases show no link to China. Many countries are already stepping up precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

South Korea has stepped up measures to contain the spread of the deadly new coronavirus, as confirmed infections rose sharply for a second day.
Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun said it was now an emergency situation.
The southern cities of Daegu and Cheongdo have been declared “special care zones”. The streets of Daegu are now largely abandoned.
South Korea has also locked down its military after several soldiers tested positive for the coronavirus.
The authorities have also told about 9,000 members of a religious group to self quarantine, after the sect was identified as a coronavirus hotbed.
The member of parliament Ahmad Amirabadi Farahani claims there have been 50 deaths from the virus, while the government says there have been 12.
Meanwhile, Kuwait and Bahrain reported their first cases of the virus, while Turkey, Pakistan and Armenia closed their borders with Iran, as Tehran reported more coronavirus infections and deaths. Neighbouring Afghanistan also introduced travel restrictions.

The Golden Globes mark the start of the season, as the first big show of the new year.  However, each year there are also significant surprises â both good and bad â as well as snubs. In TV, the amount of content has continued to grow immensely, making it nearly impossible to honor all the best. When the nominees were announced on Monday, December 9, though, the Hollywood Foreign Press tried to do just that.  Luckily, Us Weekly is here to break down the biggest TV surprises and snubs in this yearâs nominations.  Not only was star , who arguably deserves to win, left out, the series overall didnât receive any recognition.  Well-deserved! The Netflix drama earned four nominations, including best miniseries, best actress in a miniseries (Kailyn Dever and Merritt Wever) and best supporting actress (Toni Collette) in a miniseries.  Itâs definitely the year for streamers to shine, but not one nod for ?  She won last year for her part in Killing Eve. This year, somehow, she didnât even earn a nomination.  While âs Netflix hit had quite the ending and incredible cast, it was a bit of a shock to see it land on the nominations list multiple times.  Apparently the HFPA missed the boat on arguably the best limited series on TV. The series didnât earn one nomination, despite the incredible work of the stars (, , ) and director .  Where was the love for Schittâs Creek, PEN15 and The Good Place?  This deserved its own bullet. Not only was the series snubbed, was also cut from the list.  While it may have been the most talked about series of the year, shockingly only received one nomination; that went to .  It was a pleasant surprise to see earn recognition ⊠but where was ?  How is it possible that Baranskiâs work in The Good Fight continues to go unnoticed?  While the show was a shoe-in for a nomination, it was exciting to see both and earn a nomination. However, also deserved some love.  The Golden Globes air on NBC Sunday, January 5, 2020, at 8 p.m. ET. is set to host, for a fifth time.

For any copyright, please send me a message.  Two people have died after a driver lost control of a Porsche , sending it airborne and crashing through the second floor window of a building.  Pictures of the horror crash show a gaping hole where a window used to be, with the wreckage of the red sports car, turned upside down, visible underneath the debris within.  It is understood that two people within the car were killed in the crash, which happened at approximately 6.30am on Sunday morning in Toms River, New Jersey.  They have not been identified, but they were believed to be the only people in the car.   The Porsche was travelling at a high speed, heading northbound, when the driver lost control and hit a median barrier which caused the car to go airborne, Toms River Police Department told NBC News .  However, it is still not clear exactly how the car managed to get so high in the air.   Officials said the building the car crashed into houses several businesses, including a real estate company and a counseling service. It was unoccupied at the time of the crash.  News website NJ.com reported that skid marks could be seen across four lanes of the road leading up to the building.  Firefighters are inspecting the car and the building. with work underway to remove the car.  Police enquiries continue.
