The original “Jake From State Farm” commercials from 2011 were a big hit for the insurance company, despite their simple premise. A husband is on the phone in the middle of the night when he’s caught by his wife. Who could he be talking to? Why, it’s just Jake from State Farm! These charming spots spawned a catchphrase (“Uh, khakis?”) and even lured some famous guest stars, like SNL’s The Coneheads.
In 2020, State Farm rebooted the “Jake From State Farm” spots, recasting the original Jake. The new ads have also been a big hit, and have featured big stars like Paul Rudd and Drake. But what about the OG Jake? Here’s what happened to the original Jake from State Farm.

While at lunch with Jake from State Farm, Aaron Rodgers attempts to convince Jake to give their server the “Rodgers Rate” for insurance, which Jake says is just fine since the Rodgers Rate is not real. Although he explains that State Farm offers everyone great prices, Rodgers won’t stop spreading the word about his special rate.
