President Trump provided more details on his immigration ban during Tuesday’s White House Coronavirus Task Force briefing. Mr. Trump said the ban will be reviewed after 60 days and will only apply to those seeking permanent residence in the U.S.
Members of the Coronavirus Task Force, charged with leading the U.S. response to the coronavirus pandemic, are holding a briefing Tuesday at 5 p.m. President Trump announced late Monday plans to take executive action to temporarily suspend immigration to the country because of the illness.

The number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 18,601 on Tuesday while the death toll has surged to 590, according to the latest data by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Of the total number of cases 3,251 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
Coronavirus case tally has 3,000-mark in Mumbai as 155 more test positive, while the death toll has surged to 138 after addition of 7 fatalities, according to the civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
On a positive note, the doubling rate of COVID-19 has slowed from 3.4 days to 7.5. But, out of 100 cases, 80 per cent cases are asymptomatic.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) will visit the White House for a meeting in the Oval Office to discuss the state’s coronavirus response, President Trump said Monday.
“Theyāre getting it together in New York. A lot of good things are happening in New York. And I think the governorās going to come in to see us tomorrow,” Trump said during a press briefing. “Andrew is going to be coming in with some of his people. So we look forward to that.”
Governors have largely communicated with the White House via video conference in recent weeks as the coronavirus curbs travel.
