Govt Briefing On COVID-19 Crisis: Total Cases Rise To 18,601, India's Recovery Rate Rises To 17.48%
The number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 18,601 on Tuesday while the death toll has surged to 590, according to the latest data by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Of the total number of cases 3,251 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals.
Coronavirus case tally has 3,000-mark in Mumbai as 155 more test positive, while the death toll has surged to 138 after addition of 7 fatalities, according to the civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
On a positive note, the doubling rate of COVID-19 has slowed from 3.4 days to 7.5. But, out of 100 cases, 80 per cent cases are asymptomatic.
The United States has recorded 1,433 deaths in the last 24 hours
