U.K. Environment Secretary George Eustice and Stephen Powis, national medical director for NHS England provided an update on the COVID-19 battle in the U.K. on April 26.
Eustice said that the country now had a total of 152,840 COVID-19 cases and that 20,732 people had died in total. He said there were more than 669,000 tests that had been carried out. Eustice said in terms of reducing social distancing measures, the government must be confident they’ve met the five benchmarks laid out last week by First Secretary Dominic Raab.
