First human trials for COVID-19 in Europe begin in UK
Trials for a new COVID-19 vaccine began on humans at Oxford University in the UK on Thursday.
Two volunteers took part part in the trials with one given the new vaccine and another given a 'control' which will not prevent the virus.
The global pandemic has sickened nearly 2,68 million people, killed more than 187,000 worldwide, crippled economies and forced restrictions on the movement of millions of people in an effort to stop the virus from spreading further and overwhelming health care systems.
