The movie Iron Man kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe all the way back in 2008. Tony Stark quickly became one of our favorite heroes and we were filled with a shiver of delight when we heard him say the phrase “I am Iron Man” but nothing good can last forever and we had a feeling things were going to go poorly for our hero following the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Sure enough, Avengers: Endgame was the end of Tony Stark and we watched his beloved Pepper Potts and Peter Parker bid him a fond farewell.
But let’s take a moment to think about how this was really the only fitting, albeit very sad, end to his heroic journey. It’s something that was foreshadowed all the way back in Avengers: Age of Ultron and we finally got to see him go head to head against the ultimate personification of all of his fears, the Mad Titan Thanos. Although he gave his life to defeat Thanos, these two Marvel movie characters have more in common than you might think.
