Rockets jumped out to an early lead against the Warriors but then Klay Thompson gave Golden State their 1st lead of the game at 10-9 but then the Rockets went on a 11-2 run to go up by 8 with the score 20-12. Stephen Curry then drew a foul and hit both FT and then a 3-pointer on the next possession made it a 3 point game at 20-17 but as the 1st quarter came to a close James Harden would go to the line and hit a pair to make it 22-17 at the end of 1.
The Warriors opened up the 2nd with a 10-0 run as Harrison Barnes & Klay Thompson were responsible for all 10 points to take the lead 27-22. Golden State would remain in the lead for the rest of the 1st half with Barnes & Thompson combining for 20 of GS 35 points in the quarter to go into to halftime up 52-46.
Klay Thompson continued to light it up as he scored the 1st 5 points of the 2nd half extending the Warriors lead to 11 points with the score 57-46. The Rockets responded with a 12-2 run to make it a 1 point game at 59-58 with about 6 1/2 left in the 3rd. Golden State would get back to scoring taking advantage of poor ball handling by James Harden how would set an NBA Playoffs record for the most turnovers in a playoff game. At the end of 3 quarter of play it was 74-68 Warriors.
Harrison Barnes came up clutch in the 4th quarter as he put the Warriors up by double digits with 9 minutes still left to play with the score 80-70. Barnes went on to score 9 straight points and 13 overall in the 4th quarter. Houston was getting overtly physical in this game and Trevor Ariza jumped in the air as if to block a shot that was not being taken and kneed Klay Thompson right in the ear. Thompson would go to the locker room and return but blood start flowing out of his ear and he had to go back to the locker room again this time to receive stitches to stop the blood from gushing out of his ear. Dwight Howard would continue to foul the Warriors intentionally but the referees refused to call a flagrant foul or eject the Rockets players. The Warriors would continue to force James Harden to turnover the ball as he set the record with his 12th & 13th turnovers and in the final 65 seconds of play the MVP hit 5/5 from the FT line as the Warriors advance to the NBA Finals for the 1st time since 1975 with the final score 104-90.
