Washington DC (US), June 05 (ANI): As the world continues to battle with coronavirus pandemic, US President Donald Trump informed that tremendous progress is being made on vaccines. “We had a meeting on vaccines yesterday, we are doing incredibly well. We can have some very positive surprises. Tremendous progress is being made on vaccines. In fact, we are ready to go in terms of transportation & logistics. We have over 2 million ready to go, if it checks out for safety,” said US President.

Dr. Seheult discusses five COVID 19 vaccines that have shown some promise in phase 1, 2, and 3 trials. These include an mRNA vaccine (Moderna), an adenovirus antigen (epitope) vaccine (Oxford Vaccine Group), a vaccine developed by Johnson and Johnson, a coronavirus vaccine developed by Merck (that utilizes similar technology for the development of their Ebola vaccine), and another mRNA coronavirus vaccine developed by Pfizer. Government officials briefed on the developments on Covid-19 vaccines. Chairman Empowered Group VK Paul said the fight against Covid-19 will be won through the vaccine. Principal Scientific Advisor KV Raghavan spoke on the vaccines, drugs, and tests in India. Raghavan informed that there are about 30 groups in India working for the Covid-19 vaccine. World Health Organization (WHO) director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Friday that the WHO has received its first-ever donation of insulin and glucagon from Novo Nordisk global health care company, which will go to 50 low- and middle-income countries around the world.
He thanked the company and said the donation comes at a critical time as the world is fighting COVID-19.
Tedors Adhanom added that this donation reinforces the multiple ways the private sector can get involved in fostering global solidarity as one of the most essential services that has been disrupted due to COVID-19 is routine childhood immunization.
