EXCLUSIVE: This is one of the first videos we ever did! Mom and I sat in tiny chairs and went through all her Thai must-haves from our never-before-seen pantry. Everyone always asks us what we use, so I made Mom go through her “secret box” (had to trade her some beer for this – WORTH IT). This is everything we use or swear by when cooking Thai food. From instant noodles to pickled bamboo, it’s all the things I grew up with. Hope you guys enjoy!

Mom is always in the kitchen cooking, which means we are blessed with authentic Thai food on a nearly daily basis. One of the kids’ absolute favs is her Pad Thai. She can make it in literally 5-10 minutes with ANY ingredient, depending on what we have in the fridge – she’ll usually chop up and throw in some veggies, like onions or bell peppers, or add beef instead of chicken. BUT, the one thing that never changes is the sauce. She makes a regional (Korat style) Pad Thai that has a thicker sauce and is a bit on the sweeter side. We probably eat it at least twice a week for lunch or dinner (or even a snack), but it never lasts long – you might want to make a large batch to begin with!

Headed back to Thailand for a full-on food tour! The first stop is Bangkok, where I visited a 130-year-old noodle shop/ice cream parlor that was the oldest in Bangkok. Then it’s off for some desserts and a local train market for some soup and egg yoke ice cream. Finally, I headed down to the Rod Fai Train Market for a reunion with a SPICY Mountain of meat!
