Four students and one school employee tested positive for COVID-19 in Singapore. Education Minister Ong Ye Kung said in a news conference on Sunday (Jun 7) that health authorities are of the view that they were not likely to be infectious when they were in school. DETAILS: https://cna.asia/2AI7aoO
Those infected are from Anglican High School, CHIJ Katong Convent, CHIJ St Theresa’s Convent, Geylang Methodist Secondary School and Hwa Chong Institution. 29 staff members and 100 students who were in contact with them are on leave of absence or home quarantine order. New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs and the province’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Jennifer Russell provided an update on Sunday regarding the number of COVID-19 cases in the province and discussed the government’s ongoing response to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Starting June 1, New Brunswick will only be testing individuals with two or more symptoms of COVID-19, announced Dr. Russell. The province’s top doctor also announced three new cases of COVID-19, all confirmed to be elderly residents of Manoir de la Vallée Manor in Atholville, N.B., bringing New Brunswick’s total active coronavirus cases to 12.

The new NHS coronavirus test and trace programme will launch across England from tomorrow, the Government has announced.
The programme is designed to let people know if they have been in close contact with someone who later reports positive for Covid-19 and could be a key to easing up social distancing measures.
Health and Social Care Secretary Matt Hancock said: “As we move to the next stage of our fight against coronavirus, we will be able to replace national lockdowns with individual isolation and, if necessary, local action where there are outbreaks.

Today’s government press conference was led by Health Secretary Matt Hancock, joined by Chris Whitty, the chief medical officer, and Prof John Newton, who co-ordinates the national testing effort.
A new “on the spot” coronavirus test which can diagnose the bug in just 20 minutes has been developed in the UK, Matt Hancock has announced.
The swab test, which can determine if someone currently has the virus, will be trialed from today and could be rolled out as soon as possible, the Health Secretary said.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo provided an update on the latest numbers and news surrounding the state’s response to the coronavirus outbreak on Sunday.
Cuomo reported that net hospitalizations and intubations were down in the state. There were 139 new deaths reported.
During the briefing, Cuomo took a coronavirus swab test to encourage New Yorkers to get tested for COVID-19 and to demonstrate “why there should be no reluctance.” He urged all residents who think they have symptoms of the virus to get tested.

After The Telegraph revealed that Public Health England has for the first time approved a test for use, Edward Argar said that the Government was working to purchase “as many” as it could for use in the UK.
It is understood that the Department of Health is now in negotiations with the Swiss healthcare company Roche to buy millions of the kits, after the accuracy of the test was given the green light by experts at PHE’s Porton Down facility last week.
The development of an accurate antibody test, which shows whether someone has recovered from the virus, has long been seen as key to helping Britain get back to work.
