About 42,000 Americans are reported to have recovered from the coronavirus, according to Johns Hopkins University. But, after surviving the virus, patients may face new physical and mental health challenges. Dr. Tara Narula speaks with a doctor who recovered after he spent days on a ventilator.

Health care workers were seen cheering on patients, from a mother of five in Staten Island to a woman in Louisiana.

Is there hope for “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek, who bravely revealed he’s suffering from stage 4 pancreatic cancer? Survivors of the disease have a message for him: Stay positive. Elise Tedeschi, 50, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 2012. The diagnosis was grim but the Atlanta mom said she beat the odds with treatment that targeted a specific gene. “I knew no matter what I was going to beat this,” she told Inside Edition.
