It’s normally a time to outline the strength of the China and the Communist party, but then what’s normal about these times?
Already the annual session of the National People’s Congress had to be postponed from its usual slot in March, but it’s happening now, amid a pandemic that’s altered China’s agendas and shuffled its priorities.
The country’s facing the challenge of restoring an economy that’s shrunk almost 7 percent in the first quarter of this year.
In fact, Beijing’s been forced to abandon setting an economic growth target for the first time in decades.
Now, it has other priorities: stabilising employment and living standards.
The announcement was made by Premier Li Keqiang at the start of the parliament meeting.
And while China’s faced widespread criticisim for its handling of the crisis, Li praised its response:

Singapore’s total number of Covid-19 cases exceeds the 20,000 mark, as the Health Ministry confirmed 788 new infections today. This takes the total to 20,198 – the highest in Southeast Asia. Infectious diseases physician Dr Leong Hoe Nam of the Rophi Clinic at Mount Elizabeth Novena breaks down what this could mean for the nation, as the fight against the pandemic continues.

“What’s wrong with you?” Catherine said to her silent husband. “You’ve never done anything like that to her before. What’s wrong with you?”
Willingly empty of any answers, Dwayne stepped around her to sit on the couch next to her father.
“Dad,” she said, shifting her rage to her aging father, “you’ve always got something to say about him. So why’re you so quiet now?”
“Oh come on, Cathy, It seems like your man’s finally become a man.”
“What?” Catherine replied, mouth agape with shock. “Okay, that’s it. We’re going home. Tom, go get your sister.”
Tom, who was hiding in the kitchen with a grin on his face, walked up to his mother and said, “No, I only do what my mommy tells me to do.”
“What are you talking about?” she replied. Her face was scrunched up in confusion, but she released it when she heard her daughters scream thundering from upstairs.
“That’s Julia,” she breathed, readying herself to run to her daughter’s aid. However, before she could take her first step, she felt her arms being grabbed and held behind her back.
“What the fuck. Let go,” she shouted, struggling to break free from her husband’s grip.
“Calm down, Cathy,” her father then said to her, “she’ll be fine.”
The continuous screams raining down from upstairs dried up.
“See, what did I tell you?”
Cathrine stopped struggling and spoke to her father as calmly as she could, “Dad, what’s going on?”
“You left me alone for a year, that’s what.”
“What?”
“You heard, right. Your mom passes, and you decide to stop seeing me. What kind of daughter does that to her father?”
“Dad that has nothing to do with what I’m asking you. I’m asking you what’s happening here now.”
“I decided to get my family back?”
“What?”
“I decided I won’t wither away and die alone the way you want me to. I decided to have a family again.”
“What does that mean?” Cathrine said, now feeling a strain in her upper arm.
“It means I found others. A family that appreciated me.”
“What? Where?”
“Here, Cathy. In this house. You see, after moving in, I noticed strange things. I wasn’t as alone as you wanted me to be.”
“We didn’t want you to be alone.”
“Quiet,” he snapped. “As I was saying. I wasn’t alone in this house. It used to belong to a family. One tragically robbed of their lives too soon. Although, that family never left. They’ve been waiting for another chance at life ever since. I’ve lived with them for a year, and I empathize with them. They’ve treated me better than my own blood has. So I decided to give them the lives you people take for granted. I delivered them, my ungrateful family.”
“What the fuck are you talking about, Dad?” Tears began to flow from Cathrine’s eyes.
“Im replacing my family with one more deserving of life. One more deserving of me.”
Cathrine blinked to clear her vision from the building tears and looked to Tom, realizing it wasn’t her son anymore. She now understood the man holding her back wasn’t her husband anymore.
“Dad why would you do this?”
“I had no other choice. How can I pass up the opportunity to not only have a family that cares about me but one that’s better in every way? To have a son in law that shows some strength, to have a grandson who looks me in the eye when I talk to him, to have a granddaughter that isn’t such a fat, miserable mess all the time.”
“Don’t you dare talk about my family like that,” Cathrine screamed.
“You gave up your family when you cut me out of your life.”
“You’re insane!”
“That doesn’t-,” her father stopped talking at the sound of creaks from the stairs.
Cathrine saw her daughter stepping down the stairs with a shirt drenched in blood and somebody else’s smile. There was a woman behind Julia. She wore an old fashioned dress and held a blood-covered knife in her hands. Cathrine closed her eyes and sobbed for a few seconds before forcing herself to stop. She looked to her father, trying to show no emotion.
“I suppose it’s my turn now,” she said.
“Im sorry, sweety. I would’ve left you, but how can I keep two mothers away from their families.”
“You’re gonna burn in hell,” Catherine snarled.
“Maybe,” her father replied, “but not before you.” He walked over to Cathrine and kissed her tear-glazed cheek. Cathrine then watched helplessly as he made way for the woman to walk over to her and stab her in the stomach. She screeched in pain. Her husband then pulled her closer as the woman went in for another stab. The final thing Cathrine saw was the smiles in her family’s faces as she died.

Selena’s POV
OH HELL TO THE NO! Does he have any idea how much more a mother has to do? Not only do you have to take care of the kid, but of yourself mostly during her pregnancy to make sure you’re there for them. In fact, I’m pretty sure all the things going on lately aren’t doing any good.
“GIVE me the keys!” I emphasized the ‘give’ as I shut the door to the driver side.
“Um…I really don’t think you should drive under these circumstances,” he REALLY did not know what he had gotten himself into it.
“Regarding what you said a while ago, I DON’T GIVE A FUCK!!!” I blew my top off, and I could see the flash of hurt and regret across his face.
“Look I didn’t mean it that way. Okay! I’m just scared!” he said painfully. He gave me the keys in surrender and sank into the passenger seat. I drove out of the parking lot avoiding the paparazzi. I didn’t know were I was to go, but I knew I had to get out of there before I screamed out to the world ‘I’m pregnant!’. I was so fuckin’ tired of hiding this. I found a vacant alley and parked there. I shut off the engine, and we sat in silence…until he reached out to stroke my arm. I quickly pulled away.
“How…how dare you say that the pregnancy might ruin you!”
“I didn’t say it that way,” his expression was full of shock.
“BUT THAT’S WHAT YOU MEANT!” the rage was coming back.
“I did not,” his voice was quiet, probably trying not to piss me off anymore. The pressure was building up in the car so I stepped out. He followed but I stood in the corner looking down I started to cry.
“Its just that, I’m too young. I’m not fit to be a dad. Not right now.” he said coming closer.
“One you ARE not the only young one! I’m not ready to a MOTHER either, but that…THAT DOESN’T MEAN I’M GOING TO GIVE UP ON THIS BABY IN MY WOMB!” I had enough and I just collapsed onto my knees in corner of the alley walls.
“Look, I understand. And I’m very truly sorry,” he tried to pick me up but I refused, “It’s just that my career and the fans. I could also lose them.”
“Oh NO you did not!” I can not believe this asshole of a boyfriend.
“What?” I could now see that I was really scaring him.
“Say your career might go down the drain along with your fans. DO YOU KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO LOSE? I can lose more than you could ever, ever have! My acting and singing career will probably be on hold for a while because there is no way in hell I’m letting this child have a nanny as a mom. MY FANS, MY FANS ARE PROBABLY GOING TO LOOK DOWN ON ME! Know why? Know why, Justin? Because in fucking 19 years old, pregnant, and not married! In my younger fans’ mothers’ eyes I’m a fucking SLUT! A FUCKING SLUT! And even more of a slut, because I myself had a promise ring, but for YOU I took it off! For you! Let’s see, don’t you think that I might also have a hard time with the paparazzi! Yeah, so would you. But you don’t have YOUR fans thinking SHIT about me because I AM PREGNANT with your BABY! I’m the one who will carry this baby for 9 MONTHS! 9 MONTHS! And the worst part is…is that I thought Teddy would unite us even more, that we would maybe SOMEDAY get married and spend the rest of our lives together. I guess…I guess I’ll will raise this baby alone if your sorry ass can’t do it!” I stood up, wipped my tears, and started to walk away before I felt him pull my wrist and spin me to face him.

This isn’t what I meant or wanted! I guess I have to prove my love for her.
“This…this isn’t what I want. It’s not what I meant. This moment,” I got on one knee, “this moment should be a happy one, but there is no other way for me to prove I want to be together forever. I want to apoligize because I didn’t mean for this to offend you. I am so sorry.”
“Justin don’t,” she sobbed.
“NO! I am because that day….that day we were in your trailer before Ness busted in to say your parents were endangered, I was seconds away from asking you to…to be forever mine. So now that we stand here, remember the date, because today I ask Selena Marie Gomez, and if you say yes soon Bieber to do me the honor in becoming my wife?” I took a deep breath and pulled out the ring. (the picture of the ring after the title in the video)
“NEVER SAY NEVER!” she smiled.
“So is that a yes?” I asked not sure what she meant.
“THAT’S A HELL YEA!” she gestured for me to slide the ring on. I did and officially got engaged to the most amazing woman in the world. I then took her into a deep, passionate, long kiss, and added a dip for the spur of the moment. The last thing I said was…..
“I’m sorry and I love you both, Mrs.Bieber and the Baby Biebs.”

The Porsche went airborne off a median in Toms River, causing it to crash into a red brick building.
The driver of a Porsche lost control of the vehicle in New Jersey early Sunday, causing it to launch into the second story of a building, killing two people, according to officials.
Toms River police said they received a call at about 6:30 a.m. that a car had crashed into a building, which houses several businesses, including a real estate company and a counseling service, officials said.
