Ontario Premier Doug Ford said on Saturday the province is busy preparing for flooding season even as it continues to deal with the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.

Ford was joined by Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry John Yakabuski, Solicitor General Sylvia Jones and Health Minister Christine Elliott during a briefing on Saturday, May 2.

The premier said his government has set up a command centre in Peterborough, Ont., where water flow levels are monitored and has also sent surveillance flights over the northern parts of the province to monitor ice breaks. read more
