Alberta’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw and Premier Jason Kenney provided an update on Wednesday on the province’s ongoing efforts to combat COVID-19.
Kenney announced that the province would be entering Phase 1 of their relaunch strategy starting Thursday.
In all areas of the province, with the exception of Calgary and Brooks, retail businesses, hairstyling and barber shops, museums and art galleries, dental procedures, day camps and day cares will be allowed to reopen as of May 14 with limits on occupancies. Places of worship and funeral services would also be able to reopen under “strict guidelines.” Restaurants would be required to have seating at 50 per cent capacity.
