New York Governor Andrew Cuomo predicts deaths in his state from COVID-19 will be in the thousands.
โI donโt see how you look at those numbers and conclude anything less than thousands of people will pass away,โ Cuomo said during a press conference Sunday.
New York state confirmed Sunday that 965 people have died from COVID-19, a jump of 237 from Saturday.
Cuomo also sought to assure people following U.S. President Donald Trumpโs suggestion he may quarantine New York, New Jersey and parts of Connecticut. โI know we feel under attack,โ he said, adding that New Yorkers โwill make it through.โ
