Hasan revisited the popular Facebook group Subtle Asian Traits to answer more questions, but this time he had some help from his parents Najme and Seema. Watch as Hasan’s parents spill stories on what Hasan was like as a kid, when they’ve been most proud and most disappointed with him, what they think of his career now, and what it was like for the two of them raising a family as immigrants in America. A Facebook group called ‘Subtle Asian Traits,’ which was started by a small group of Asian-Australian high school students, has recently grown to a staggering 1.1 million members. The group consists mostly of first-generation Asian immigrants sharing their unique experiences and struggles often through photos and memes. As someone who knows the struggle all too well, Hasan decided to join the group and answer questions from the members about his own experience growing up as a first generation American.
