Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the biggest risk factors for coronavirus are age, gender, living in a city and being black or from a minority ethnic background.
In the daily coronavirus briefing, he said the government is determined to โget to the bottom of thisโ and โfind ways of closing the gapโ.
Referring to COVID-19โs disproportionate impact on BAME people, he said: โPeople are angry about racial injustice and I get that. Black lives matter.โ
