Kamala Harris, the California senator turned vice presidential candidate, will introduce herself to American voters Wednesday in her first primetime speech since joining the Democratic ticket.
The evening, themed “A More Perfect Union,” focuses on the people who Joe Biden says will help him succeed if elected. Party favorites including former President Barack Obama, 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Elizabeth Warren will all take star turns.

Over the past four years, a lot of people have asked me, “When others are going so low, does going high still really work?” My answer? Going high is the only thing that works. Because when we go low, when we use those same tactics of degrading and dehumanizing others, we just become part of the ugly noise that’s drowning out everything else. We degrade ourselves. We degrade the very causes for which we fight. But let’s be clear. Going high does not mean putting on a smile and saying nice things when confronted by viciousness and cruelty. Going high means taking the harder path. It means scraping and clawing our way to that mountaintop. Going high means standing fierce against hatred while remembering that we are one nation under God — and if we want to survive, we’ve got to find a way to live together and work together across our differences. So let me be as honest and clear as I possibly can. Donald Trump is the wrong president for our country. He has had more than enough time to prove that he can do the job, but he is clearly in over his head. He cannot meet this moment. He simply cannot be who we need him to be for us. It is what it is.

RNC Night 1- It was a night designed to appeal to black voters and moderate white voters. Many of the speeches attempted to humanize Trump and make him appear more empathic. This was likely in response to last week’s DNC where Joe Biden’s empathy and kindness was one of the big takeaways.
Throughout the night a bit of revisionist history was on display regarding COVID. Speakers tried to argue that Trump has been decisive and effective on the coronavirus by putting in the travel ban from China, trying again to appeal to the moderate voter who’s concerned about healthcare and the economy. However, that’s going to be a tough argument to win…especially as we’re heading toward 180,000 dead from the virus, a slow economy, and no end in sight.

Herschel Walker and Vernon Jones were the highlights of how the impact of President Trump has played out over the last four years. Herschel Walker a 37 year friend of President Trump and Vernon Jones a Democrat State Representative for Georgia. The night was very interesting.

History was made at the Democratic National Convention as Senator Kamala Harris officially accepted the nomination for Vice President. Harris is the first Black woman to accept a spot on a major party’s presidential ticket, and as the keynote speaker, called for America’s support in her run for the White House alongside Joe Biden.
