Director General of Health Ashley Bloomfield has confirmed nine new cases of Covid-19, bringing the national total to 1431. In addition, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has said Cabinet will tomorrow make a decision on whether or not to lift the strict level 4 lockdown measures.
Director of Public Health Dr Caroline McElnay has confirmed two further deaths from Covid-19, bringing the nation’s death toll to four.
The health ministry said that out of the total Covid-19 positive cases, 45 per cent cases are below the age of 40 years, 34 per cent are between 41-60 years and 19 per cent are above 60 years. 76 per cent of India Covid-19 patients are men, the ministry said.
