Thousands of people turned out in Washington, D.C., on Saturday for a major protest as demonstrations against police brutality and the death of George Floyd ramp up.
Officials prepared for the protests by closing a significant number of roads around the city’s downtown area, with demonstrations in the nation’s capital entering a second consecutive weekend.
Protesters started to congregate on 16th Street and the newly named Black Lives Matter Plaza in northwest D.C. near the White House a couple of hours before noon.

The 46-year old black man lost his life at the hands of a police officer in the US city of Minneapolis on May 25.
Massive protests erupted across the US following the incident and some other countries. The officer who knelt on Floyd was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter on Friday, while protesters demand the arrest of other three officers involved.
The UK health secretary has said there is a risk of an increase in Covid-19 cases following the Black Lives Matter protests this weekend, while denying Britain is a racist country. Speaking to Sky’s Sophy Ridge on Sunday, Matt Hancock said: ‘I support very strongly the argument that is being made by those who are protesting … but the virus itself doesn’t discriminate and gathering in large groups is temporarily against the rules precisely because it increases the risk of the spread of this virus’

One way to answer this question is through antibody tests. An antibody is a protective protein produced by the immune system to destroy harmful viruses and infections.
