Cyrus headlined the TikTok Tailgate celebration in Tampa ahead of the big game. She performed popular hits off her seventh studio album, “Plastic Hearts,” including “Bad Karma” with Jett and “Night Crawling” with Idol. She also honored Jett and Idol by performing two of their hits, “Bad Reputation” and “White Wedding,” respectively. Cyrus performed for about 7,500 health care workers who received free tickets to the Super Bowl from the NFL.”This is my first show in about a year, and I couldn’t imagine a better way to do this than in Tampa, surrounded by health care heroes,” she told the audience. She performed popular hits off her seventh studio album Plastic Hearts including “Bad Karma” with Jett and “Night Crawling” with Idol. She also honored Jett and Idol by performing two of their hits, “Bad Reputation” and “White Wedding,” respectively. What made the concert even more special was the audience of 75,000 vaccinated Florida-based healthcare workers attending the COVID-19 safe soiree in person.”This is my first show in about a year, and I couldn’t imagine a better way to do this than in Tampa, surrounded by healthcare heroes,” she told the audience. Miley Cyrus performed a real live concert for TikTok’s Tailgate Pregame Show — which, as Stereogum points out, had the 7,500 vaccinated health care workers that were invited to the Super Bowl in attendance. Miley thanked the healthcare workers several times throughout her set, and she loaded the show with surprises. She brought out Billy Idol and Joan Jett for their parts on Plastic Hearts songs “Night Crawling” and “Bad Karma,” and then she did Idol’s own “White Wedding” with him and Jett’s own “Bad Reputation” and “I Hate Myself For Loving You” with her. “If it wasn’t for Joan Jett, without her I don’t think I would be me,” Miley said. She also did tons of the cool covers she’d been doing recently (Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” Blondie’s “Heart of Glass,” Nine Inch Nails’ “Head Like A Hole”, Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen,” and what sounded like a tease of Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind” during “We Can’t Stop”), and she added another very cool one to that list: Bikini Kill’s “Rebel Girl” (a song that, speaking of Joan Jett, was produced by Joan). She also opened her set with a cover of Toni Basil’s “Mickey” (in a cheerleading uniform), and did plenty of her own fan faves like “Prisoner,” “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart,” “Midnight Sky,” “Party in the U. Miley Cyrus shared the stage with Billy Idol during her TikTok Tailgate pregame concert performance in Tampa Bay before Super Bowl 55, bringing the rocker onstage with a simple, “Hey, Billy Idol.”
After singing their Plastic Hearts collaboration “Night Crawling,” the two joined forces for Idol’s 1980s hit “White Wedding” with Cyrus, dressed in a pink and black cheerleader outfit (and matching knee pads), dancing suggestively in between vocal turns.

However, it wasn’t one without some heavy emotions. The singer, who headlined Super Bowl LV’s “TikTok Tailgate” at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, donned a cheerleader uniform in order to celebrate the kickoff of the football game in front of thousands of frontline workers who have already been vaccinated for the coronavirus. While Cyrus performed a cover of Toni Basil’s “Mickey” (changing the lyrics to “Miley,” of course), her 2020 hit “Prisoner” and a cover of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” solo, she also included some interesting collaborators into her career-defining performance. The former Hannah Montana star was joined by Joan Jett, an artist who clearly had a great deal of influence on Cyrus’ latest album Plastic Hearts, for renditions of three of the former Runaways member’s most memorable hits: “Bad Reputation,” “Bad Karma” and “I Hate Myself for Loving You.” It wasn’t just Jett who Cyrus included in the pre-show.
