Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab hosts today’s Covid-19 briefing as government experts have been advised to lift the lockdown “very gradually” to avoid risking a rise in infection rate and losing public trust.

A paper considered by the Government’s scientific advisory group Sage warns that having to reintroduce restrictions in a bid to control a second peak would be likely seen as “a serious failure of policy and trust in public health advice will be lost, leading to lower adherence to advice to restrict or to resume activity”. read more
