Miley Cyrus cranked out a sultry salute to health-care heroes ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl 2021. The “Party in the USA” singer, dressed in a black and pink leather cheerleading uniform, was noddin’ her head and movin’ her hips for 7, 500 vaccinated front-line workers at the livestreamed TikTok Tailgate pregame party at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The fired-up Cyrus, 28, launched into a gyration-filled set, as the masked invitees in attendance — all warriors of the coronavirus pandemic — bopped along. She was joined by ’80s rock icon Billy Idol to perform “Night Crawling, ” their collaboration from her latest album, “Plastic Hearts, ” as well as his famous hit “White Wedding. ” Cyrus later roared a rendition of “Bad Karma” with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Joan Jett, of Bad Reputation” fame. On Thursday, “Wrecking Ball” Cyrus seemingly teased her performance by flaunting her tight, toned bod in a bikini top and briefs — or, perhaps, a cheerleader’s uniform — in a short Instagram clip captioned, “MILEY: FOR THE WIN! ” She also flexed her biceps and prepped her pipes in subsequent posts while trotting on a treadmill. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the game itself — between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — is expected to only admit a maximum of 22, 000 in-person football fans to the venue, which can normally host up to 75, 000. In addition to Cyrus’ gathering, the New England Patriots recently stepped up and offered 76 vaccinated health-care workers an all-expenses-paid trip to the big game. Miley Cyrus performed a real live concert for TikTok’s Tailgate Pregame Show — which, as Stereogum points out, had the 7,500 vaccinated health care workers that were invited to the Super Bowl in attendance. Miley thanked the healthcare workers several times throughout her set, and she loaded the show with surprises. She brought out Billy Idol and Joan Jett for their parts on Plastic Hearts songs “Night Crawling” and “Bad Karma,” and then she did Idol’s own “White Wedding” with him and Jett’s own “Bad Reputation” and “I Hate Myself For Loving You” with her. “If it wasn’t for Joan Jett, without her I don’t think I would be me,” Miley said. She also did tons of the cool covers she’d been doing recently (Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” Blondie’s “Heart of Glass,” Nine Inch Nails’ “Head Like A Hole”, Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen,” and what sounded like a tease of Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind” during “We Can’t Stop”), and she added another very cool one to that list: Bikini Kill’s “Rebel Girl” (a song that, speaking of Joan Jett, was produced by Joan). She also opened her set with a cover of Toni Basil’s “Mickey” (in a cheerleading uniform), and did plenty of her own fan faves like “Prisoner,” “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart,” “Midnight Sky,” “Party in the U. One of the highlights of Super Bowl, aside from the game, is the musical performances that come with the event. The Weeknd will be the halftime show act later tonight. But prior to kickoff, Miley Cyrus headlined the TikTok Tailgate pregame event in Tampa, Florida this afternoon with hits like “Prisoner,” and even brought out icons like Billy Idol and Joan Jett to join her. Given Cyrus is a true fashion girl, she had to bring her stellar style to the stage today—would you expect anything less? Before the show began, she posted a fit on Instagram that saw her put her unique stamp on Super Bowl style. She sported a green jersey-inspired top, by Gucci. She paired the luxurious top with denim cut-offs, and strappy leather boots to make it sporty, but also chic. When she hit the stage, Cyrus rocked a pink and black leather cheerleader look, by Michael Schmidt, consisting of a bra top, pleated mini skirt, and even knee pads (her top also read “FTW,” meaning, “for the win”).
