Cadillac’s electric future is illuminated with a “slice” of nostalgia from Tim Burton’s “Edward Scissorhands” universe, in a new commercial debuting in the fourth quarter of this year’s big game.
The new spot stars Timothée Chalamet, as Edward Scissorhands’ son, Edgar, and Winona Ryder, reprising her role as Kim, who is also Edgar’s mother.
“It’s rare when a work you’re proud of continues to live on and evolve with the times, even after 30 years,” said Tim Burton, who directed the original 1990 film and approved the concept for the new ad. “I’m glad to see Edgar coping with the new world! I hope both fans and those being introduced to Edward Scissorhands for the first time enjoy it.”
DoorDash has a special delivery in store for Super Bowl LV. The food delivery service teams up with Sesame Workshop, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” director Michel Gondry and Tony-winning actor Daveed Diggs for a campaign titled “The Neighborhood,” which stresses the importance of community and connectedness during socially distant times. The Big Game spot, coming on one of the busiest food delivery days of the year, recruits the Sesame Street gang to show how the company offers not only food from restaurants, but also everything from paper towels to (as one particular monster surely knows) cookies!
Tracy Morgan Rocket Mortgage Commercial for SuperBowl 55 in 2021. Here’s something to be sure about—Rocket Mortgage’s “Certain Is Better” Tracy Morgan ads resonated with viewers during the Super Bowl. The two 60-second spots ranked first and second place in USA Today’s Super Bowl Ad Meter, which asks the public to rate ads online with a score from 1 to 10.
This is the first time one brand has taken the top two spots since Budweiser won the honor 14 years ago.
The humorous ads, created by Chicago-based agency Highdive, show Morgan illustrating the difference between being “pretty sure” and “certain” about things like being able to afford a house. The first “Certain Is Better” spot, which also starred Dave Bautista, scored 7.37 out of 10; the second, which featured Joey Bosa, scored 7.29 on the meter.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison announces new rental waivers and deferrals for commercial tenants hit by the impact of the coronavirus crisis.
Under the scheme landlords will have to reduce leases in proportion to the reduction in the tenant’s business. The waivers will have to account for at least 50 per cent of the reduction in business.
