After much confusion about which businesses could move to the second phase of New York State’s reopening plan, some people arrived at Destiny USA Friday, May 29, 2020, ready to shop and were disappointed when turned away. Premier Doug Ford was joined by Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, and Stephen Lecce, Minister of Education, on Tuesday where it was announced that Ontario schools will not be reopening for the rest of the school year. However, online learning will continue.
“I’m just not going to risk it,” Ford said of not reopening schools.
Premier Ford also announced that overnight camps will be closed this summer, but day camps will be allowed to reopen with strict public health measures in place in July and August.

The government has rejected suggestions that children could return to school in England in the next few weeks. The Education Secretary, Gavin Williamson, declined to give a date for them to reopen, saying the government’s tests would need to be met before pupils could return to school as part of any easing of coronavirus restrictions.
Meanwhile ministers remains under intense pressure over shortages of protective clothing for health workers and especially the medical gowns used in hospital intensive care wards.
