At the gala, Dave (Jason Bateman from Hancock and Juno) in Mitch’s body runs to kiss his wife, which finally convinces her that it is indeed her husband in this body. They then start running towards the fountain which started everything to pee in it and swap bodies to bring everything back to normal, but the fountain is in a crowded mall. Dave in Mitch’s body starts to pee but Mitch (Ryan Reynolds from Deadpool and Green Lantern) in Dave’s body needs a response from Dave. He absolutely wants to know why he wasn’t invited to his birthday. Dave confesses to him that he was ashamed, but that now he is very proud of himself, and so they go back to peeing in front of all the people in the mall looking at them, and before security can catch them, manage to exchange bodies and regain their original envelope.

Featuring a who’s who supporting cast that includes Elijah Wood, Brittany Murphy, Devon Aoki, and Nick Stahl, Sin City promises to be one of the most direct translations from page to screen of a comic series, with shots and dialogue adapted straight from the original comic’s panels. Rodriguez quit the Director’s Guild when they refused to let Frank Miller co-direct the film, a deal hashed out after the two collaborators developed and shot the opening scene utilizing a green-screen process to harness the stark, black-and-white look of the books as a litmus test for the rest of the production. Quentin Tarantino was brought in and reportedly paid one dollar to direct an extended scene between Del Toro and Owen that amounts to one issue of The Big Fat Kill miniseries.

Jim Sheridan’s film, adapted from Susanne Bier’s 2004 movie, concerns Captain Sam Cahill (Tobey Maguire), a Marine who receives orders to ship out for yet another tour of duty in Afghanistan. But before he leaves his supportive wife, Grace (Natalie Portman), and his two elementary-school-age daughters, Sam picks up his black sheep brother, Tommy (Jake Gyllenhaal), who has finished a prison stretch for robbing a bank. While overseas, Sam’s aircraft gets shot down and he’s thought dead. Back home, irresponsible Tommy gets his act together in order to be an anchor for Grace and the girls, and the two grow emotionally — though not physically — close. As the family finally begins to make peace with their grief, soldiers rescue POW Sam and he returns home. Sam’s experiences overseas have caused him such emotional turmoil, he has a difficult time adjusting to civilian life, and soon his fear and paranoia manifest themselves in the form of jealousy for his brother’s relationship with his wife. Sam Shepard and Mare Winningham co-star as the brothers’ father and stepmother.
