6 months ago we partnered up with John Boyega to create the Create Next Film Project bringing the next generation of Black filmmakers from London into the spotlight. Offering mentorship and funding to 5 All Star Directors, we gave them the tools they needed to create their own short films.

Pacific Rim is a 2013 American science fiction monster film directed by Guillermo del Toro, starring Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, Ron Perlman, and Mana Ashida, and the first film in the Pacific Rim franchise. The screenplay was written by Travis Beacham and del Toro from a story by Beacham. The film is set in the future, when Earth is at war with the Kaiju,[a] colossal sea monsters which have emerged from an interdimensional portal on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. To combat the monsters, humanity unites to create the Jaegers,[b] gigantic humanoid mechas, each controlled by two co-pilots whose minds are joined by a mental link. Focusing on the war’s later days, the story follows Raleigh Becket, a washed-up Jaeger pilot called out of retirement and teamed with rookie pilot Mako Mori as part of a last-ditch effort to defeat the Kaiju.
James welcomes master mentalist Lior Suchard to London and Lior immediately freaks out Minnie Driver by guessing her first-ever crush’s name. If his reaction to the new trailer is anything to go by, John Boyega is very stoked to be in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And who can blame him? The British actor was largely unknown when he was cast as reformed Stormtrooper and possible Jedi, Finn, and like pretty much everyone else, grew up a massive fan of the space saga. But even we didn’t realize the depths of his fandom until we approached Boyega at a recent photoshoot to ask for an autograph. Let’s just say that he’s not just in Star Wars, but he’s into it, too. Really, really into it.

You may know actor, John Boyega as Moses in his 2011 film debut Attack the Block. If not, you’ve definitely seen him in the new 2015 trailer that has everyone excited, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
This prestigious English actor stopped by Sway in the Morning to talk about the film and opened up about his role as ‘Finn.’ The racists remarks about his heroic character being black doesn’t bother him one bit. In fact, he brings to our attention that they’ve sold $50 million in pre-sale tickets for their opening day!
