Two police officers in Buffalo, New York, were suspended without pay Thursday after video showed them pushing a 75-year-old man, causing him to fall back and hit his head on the sidewalk, Buffalo Police Department spokesman Mike DeGeorge told CNN. The man is hospitalized in serious but stable condition, DeGeorge said Friday. FOLLOW LIVE PROTEST UPDATESThe demonstrators in Niagara Square were, like those across the country, calling for racial justice after the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody. Based on initial video, police issued a statement that said the man tripped and fell, DeGeorge said. After more videos became available, police amended that statement, and Police Commissioner Byron Lockwood suspended the officers and opened an investigation, he said.”The department moved swiftly” and “corrected” the information, DeGeorge said.”This incident is wholly unjustified and utterly disgraceful, ” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said on Twitter. “Police Officers must enforce — NOT ABUSE — the law. “Mayor Byron Brown tweeted called the incident “disheartening” and said his thoughts were with the victim.

Washington DC (US), June 05 (ANI): As the world continues to battle with coronavirus pandemic, US President Donald Trump informed that tremendous progress is being made on vaccines. “We had a meeting on vaccines yesterday, we are doing incredibly well. We can have some very positive surprises. Tremendous progress is being made on vaccines. In fact, we are ready to go in terms of transportation & logistics. We have over 2 million ready to go, if it checks out for safety,” said US President.
Matt Hancock chairs today’s Downing Street press conference after being warned by the country’s statistics watchdog that the Government’s testing figures for coronavirus are “still far from complete and comprehensible”.
David Norgrove, chairman of the UK Statistics Authority, said the way the Government presented the figures appeared to be aimed at showing “the largest possible number of tests, even at the expense of understanding”.
Elsewhere, Housing Minister Simon Clarke has said that it is going to be “very, very difficult” for people to take summer holidays this year, despite confirming that air bridges are still part of a “live” debate.
Government advisers warn the easing of lockdown measures from Monday is too soon, and could cause a second spike in coronavirus cases.
Sir Jeremy Farrar and Professor John Edmunds, both members of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), which advises the Government on the pandemic, have said ministers were taking risks by following through with their current plans.

A mother-of-three discovered she was pregnant with twins after waking up from an induced coma whilst battling COVID-19. Danielle Martin initially had a sore throat which worsened but she never thought it would be the deadly virus until she began to feel as though she was ‘suffocating’ on March 30. She was rushed into hospital and was diagnosed with pneumonia but tests revealed covid. After ten days in an induced coma, Ms Martin’s sadness turned to joy as she was informed by medics that she is expecting twins.

Trump said that “tremendous progress is being made” and that there are signs the COVID-19 curve in the country is beginning to level due to “aggressive” strategies including physical distancing. American government officials inside Donald Trump’s White House are actively discussing putting troops near the Canadian borders in light of U.S. border security concerns around the coronavirus pandemic, sources tell Global News.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed the news while giving his daily briefing to reporters from Rideau Cottage, acknowledging that conversations are taking place.
“Canada and the United States have the longest un-militarized border in the world and it is very much in both of our interests for it to remain that way,” he said.
