Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has once again recorded his appreciation to all frontliners for their tireless efforts to break the country’s Covid-19 infection chain.
Speaking via a 30-minute video conference with representatives of the country’s frontliners battling the pandemic, Muhyiddin said not only were their efforts being hailed throughout the country, they had also gained international recognition.
The video conference was participated by representatives from the Health Ministry, Malaysian Armed Forces, Royal Malaysia Police, Immigration Department, Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defence Force, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, and the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela).

Matt Hancock gives its latest coronavirus briefing hours after Nicola Sturgeon announced plans to begin lifting lockdown in Scotland.
The First Minister said her “starting point isn’t whether we have a Scottish approach or a UK wide approach,” but one that was “the best approach to tackling this virus”, as she launched Scotland’s exit strategy blueprint.
Elsewhere, the World Health Organisation said today that up to half of all coronavirus deaths in Europe have taken place in care homes in an “unimaginable human tragedy”.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak says the UK is receiving shipments regularly from domestic suppliers as well as those from overseas – including a shipment of 140,00 gowns from Myanmar. The Turkish shipment is still delayed, however.
“We are working hard to get the PPE our frontline NHS and social care staff need,” he says.
He is joined by Chief Scientific Advisor, Angela Mclean and Yvonne Doyle Medical Director of health protection for Public Health England.
