It’s being described as a ‘deeply personal message’ about the scale of Covid-19 crisis facing the nation, and the response shown by the public and key workers.
In her powerful address – one of four formal statements she’s given in her 68-year-reign – she said the nation may “have more still to endure” but “we will overcome it”.
The Queen has praised Britain’s ‘national spirit’ in facing the challenge of coronavirus as she evoked wartime memories to reassure those ‘feeling a painful sense of separation from their loved ones’ to take comfort in the fact: ‘We will meet again.’
Queen Elizabeth will address the UK on Sunday, Buckingham Palace said, only the fifth time she has done so other than at Christmas during her 68 years on the throne.
The government has put Britain into a virtual lockdown, closing pubs, restaurants and nearly all shops, while banning social gatherings and ordering Britons to stay at home unless it is absolutely essential to venture out.
Last month, the queen issued a written statement in which she said the royal family would play its part in rising to the challenge of the coronavirus outbreak.
From the first signs that Coronavirus, or COVID-19 was turning into an epidemic and was officially declared a world-wide emergency, the Federal Government started planning preventive, containment and curative measures in the event the disease hits Nigeria.
President Buhari addresses Nigerians, says his administration is doing everything to contain the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country.
The president made the assurance in a broadcast on Sunday.

American government officials inside Donald Trump’s White House are actively discussing putting troops near the Canadian borders in light of U.S. border security concerns around the coronavirus pandemic, sources tell Global News.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed the news while giving his daily briefing to reporters from Rideau Cottage, acknowledging that conversations are taking place.
