Speaking ONLY CHINESE to My Friend for 24 Hours?! (HE CAN’T UNDERSTAND) 😂
My friend Dave and I spoke only Mandarin Chinese together for 24 hours. He’s a Chinese American who grew up speaking Fujianese*, and I’m a white guy who speaks pretty good but definitely not perfect Mandarin. This was an epic 24 hour challenge** that really pushed both of us to our language learning limits.
* A Chinese language very different from and mutually unintelligible with Mandarin that’s spoken in China’s Fujian province.
* * Not exactly a 24 hour challenge, more like a whole day challenge — packed with lots of fun Chinese language activities.
