senior Iranian official has threatened to seize a British oil tanker in retaliation for the United Kingdom’s boarding and seizure of the Iranian supertanker Grace 1 off the coast of Gibraltar over suspected sanctions violations yesterday. The incident comes as Iran says it will begin enriching uranium in violation a controversial international agreement that the United Kingdom, along with France and Germany, have been struggling to salvage after the U.S. government pulled out last year. It also follows a spate of attacks on oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman and as tensions between the United States and Iran have pushed those two countries worryingly close to open conflict.

BRITAIN should be “scared” about Tehran’s retaliation over the dramatic seizure of an Iranian supertanker by Royal Marines, a firebrand cleric warned today.
Mohammad Ali Mousavi Jazayeri hinted the Islamic Republic may strike back over the capture of the giant vessel, impounded over fears it was illegally shipping oil to Syria.
“I am openly saying that Britain should be scared of Iran’s retaliatory measures over the illegal seizure of the Iranian oil tanker,” said the cleric, a member of the powerful clerical body the Assembly of Experts.
British super tanker Pacific Voyager drifted in the Persian Gulf for six hours today prompting Iranian officials to announce that they had not boarded the 1,000ft vessel which was just outside its waters. The tanker was en-route between Singapore and Ras Tanura in Saudi Arabia when it slowed to a halt this morning. UK officials said it had slowed to adjust its time of arrival in port.

A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck southern California Friday night, just one day after a 6.4 quake struck in the same area. CBS News’ Jonathan Vigliotti reports from Los Angeles.
A magnitude 6.9 earthquake jolted Southern California and was felt as far away as Mexico Friday night, but no major damage was reported.
The quake, which initially was reported as magnitude 7.1, would be the largest temblor in the region in 20 years and was centered in the same area as a 6.4 quake that hit a day earlier.
The shaker at 8:19 p.m. was centered 11 miles from Ridgecrest, a Mojave Desert town 150 miles (240 kilometers) away from Los Angeles that saw building damage, fires and several injuries from the earlier quake.
Southern California is awaiting more aftershocks after two powerful earthquakes rocked the area this week. The 7.1 magnitude quake, which hit just after 8 p.m. local time, was felt from Los Angeles all the way to Nevada and caused injuries, sparked fires and closed roadways. The quake was centered in the Mojave Desert near the town of Ridgecrest, which is still recovering from a 6.4 magnitude quake on the Fourth of July. Carter Evans reports.

However, Star says he lost a valuable piece of his collection over the weekend. On Monday, Star said on Twitter that KLM Royal Dutch Airlines lost “seven pieces of luggage” belonging to him and his team. According to the YouTuber, his suitcases contained makeup purchased in UK drugstores, which he planned on reviewing in a new video, as well as a rare Birkin handbag worth $60,000. “I haven’t told you guys this yet, but when Nate and I flew home Saturday night [with the Jeffree Star Cosmetics] team, KLM Airlines lost all seven pieces of our luggage,” Star wrote on Twitter. “They promised it back Sunday, still nothing.” “The UK drugstore makeup that I bought was in one of the bags, so I can’t film my new video today,” Star said on Monday. “Praying the bags make it back to us all.” “I HAVE A CONFESSION: I NEVER pack anything really valuable in my checked bags, but I did this time,” Star continued. “A $60,000 rare Birkin is in one of my bags. KLM give it back please or we gonna have a problem.” Star also discussed the missing luggage on his Instagram story Monday.
