Miley Cyrus's Pre Super Bowl Concert Was Full of Iconic Throwbacks
Leave it to Miley Cyrus to turn Super Bowl Sunday into her own personal headliner! The “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” singer kicked off the big day on Sunday, February 7, with an hour-long live concert via the NFL’s TikTok account, and she did not disappoint. While onstage in Tampa, Florida, Miley took her virtual crowd (and IRL crowd of vaccinated healthcare workers) through some of her current and greatest hits, including “Edge of Midnight,” “High,” “We Can’t Stop,” “The Climb,” and “Wrecking Ball,” the last of which got her a little emotional while performing. “Everyone’s suffering is different, even everyone's threshold of pain,” she told her fans. “I wear a lot of glitter and I wear a lot of armor and I also wear my heart on my sleeve, and it gets broken a lot.”Miley didn’t just work her way through her own discography; her TikTok Tailgate performance also included some notable covers, like Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” and Blondie’s “Heart of Glass.” At one point during the show, she was joined onstage by Billy Idol to duet on “Night Crawling,” and she also teamed up with Joan Jett on performances of “Bad Karma" and "Bad Reputation.”As usual with any Miley appearance, her wardrobe was just as memorable as her music. For most of the concert, Miley donned a hot pink and black cheerleading outfit, complete with knee guards and the letters FTW emblazoned upon her crop top. Later in the show, she switched to the football side of things with a customized black and pink uniform, complete with shoulder pads and stretchy pants.
