Lima street performer "Robotin" becomes "fumigator" amid coronavirus pandemic

Alan Castillo, a street artist from Lima famous for his “Robotin” character has been disinfecting houses and local businesses amid the coronavirus pandemic, as footage filmed on Thursday shows.

Since the artist has been unable to perform on the streets, he has decided to reinvent himself as a fumigator.

“I changed my course. Now I disinfect my clients’ houses. I’m not going to do shows anymore. Now I call them and offer them my disinfection services for houses, premises, businesses. I am advised by a fumigation company and I am dedicated to this now,” explained Castillo about his new professional line of duty.

According to reports available in local media, ‘Robotin’ disinfects up to three and four houses a day, and the cost of this service ranges from 20 to 30 soles (5 to 7.5 euros, 5.8 to 8.2 US dollars). The substance he uses is quaternary ammonium rather than bleach.
