Update 06/06/2019 7:50pm:

Warriors minority owner Mark Stevens was banned from attending NBA games for one year and fined $500,000 for shoving Raptors player Kyle Lowry. Stevens was also seen repeatedly cursing at Lowry during Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday (June 5).

The NBA released a statement on Thursday, which read, “A team representative must be held to the highest possible standard, and the conduct of Golden State Warriors investor Mark Stevens last night was beyond unacceptable and has no place in our league. As the review of this matter continues, Mr. Stevens will not be permitted to attend NBA games.”

Lowry responded to the situation before the decision was made, telling the media, “He’s not a good look for the ownership group they have… A guy like that, showing his true class, he shouldn’t be a part of our league. There’s just no place for that. I was furious, I’m not going to lie.”

Update 06/06/2019 2:49pm:

Last night’s NBA Finals game was all about the Raptors as they soundly defeated the Warriors who were playing without Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant, thus likely leading to the frustration shown by a ‘fan’ sitting courtside who pushed Kyle Lowry after he dove into the stands for a loose ball.

Now it’s been revealed that the man in question is actually Mark Stevens who’s a part owner of the Warriors, which has garnered the attention of LeBron James who took to social media today to call the actions inexcusable.

“Thereโ€™s absolutely no place in our BEAUTIFUL game for that AT ALL,” King James recently said on Instagram, “When you sit courtside you absolutely know what comes with being on the floor and if you donโ€™t know itโ€™s on the back on the ticket itself that states the guidelines. But he himself being a fan but more importantly PART-OWNER of the Warriors knew exactly what he was doing which was so uncalled for.”

James continued to say “He knew the rules more than just the average person sitting watching the game courtside so for that something needs to be done ASAP! A swift action for his actions,” while noting the double standard that would be at play if Lowry had pushed Stevens back in return.

“If @kyle_lowry7 would have reacted and put his hands back on him. You guys would be going CRAZY!! Calling for him to damn near be put in jail let alone being suspended for the rest of the Finals all because he was protecting himself,” followed by the hashtags “#ProtectThePlayers #PrivilegeAintWelcomeHere.”

Meanwhile, for the record, Stevens should not be confused with Joe Lacob, the majority owner of the Warriors who was also sitting courtside during the game, and whose wife infamously drew a “death stare” from Beyonce for leaning over her to talk to JAY-Z.

Original 06/06/2019 7:30am:

Drake was outdone by a Warriors fan in terms of getting in on the chippiness of the Finals. During a play on a loose ball, Raptors guard Kyle Lowry dove into the stands after the ball and landed on the sideline spectators. However, as Lowry attempted to get up, one of the fans sitting in the first row took the opportunity to shove him. It’s important to note that Lowry wasn’t even on the fan which made the decision inexcusable.

As a result, the fan was ejected from the game.
