COVID-19: Scott Morrison announces 3-step plan to reopen Australia and ease restrictions | ABC News

Prime Minister Scott Morrison and the Chief Medical Officer Brendan Murphy give an update on the coronavirus pandemic in Australia following a highly anticipated National Cabinet Meeting.

The group of leaders has agreed to relax restrictions in three stages.

Restaurants and cafes will be allowed to reopen under the first stage of eased coronavirus restrictions.

Stage one will see groups of up to five visitors allowed at a person’s home and allow groups of up to ten people to meet in public.

Libraries, community centres, playgrounds and boot camps will also be allowed to open, and people will be able to undertake local and regional travel.

The timing of the changes will be up to individual states and territories and National Cabinet will review the changes every three weeks.
