Coronavirus update: The latest COVID-19 news for Wednesday May 27 | ABC News

Authorities in three states are on high alert with coronavirus outbreaks at schools, a nursing home and on a live export ship.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Australia continues to fall, but for the first time in 19 days, South Australia has recorded a new infection.

1:25 – Two staff members at a Melbourne aged care centre have tested positive to COVID-19.
3:24 – The Federal Government maintains it properly notified the WA Government about sick crew members onboard a live export ship which docked in Fremantle last week.
5:41 – Two Sydney schools have had to temporarily close after two students tested positive to coronavirus.
