Coronavirus update: The latest COVID-19 news for Thursday 16 April | ABC News

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide has passed two million. Almost a third are in the United States. It took 83 days to reach the first million cases and two weeks for the second million.

1:35 – The head of the WHO says he regrets Donald Trump’s decision to halt funding.

1:49 – Germany will slowly ease restriction from next week.

2:11 – National Cabinet meets today to determine how and when students can return to school.

3:55 – National Cabinet is also looking broadly at the current restrictions in place and how long they may last.
