The Cadillac Lyriq is a rear-wheel or four-wheel-drive premium full-size crossover and is also the first all-electric production car in the history of the American automaker. In Cadillac itself, this electric SUV is called nothing less than "the culmination of a century of innovation and the beginning of a new era for the company" ... For the first time as a concept of the same name, an electric crossover appeared before the general public in early August 2020 during a virtual presentation, and then the Americans claimed that the production version would repeat the prototype by 85 percent. And I must say - they did not deceive, because on the way to the conveyor, the electric car practically did not change (naturally, with the exception of some simplifications), and its final version debuted in April 2021 on the podiums of the Shanghai International Auto Show.
Outside, the Cadillac Lyriq instantly attracts the eye with its spectacular, futuristic and extraordinary, but at the same time really beautiful and balanced appearance. The expressive front end of the electric car "flaunts" ultra-thin optics, an original radiator grille almost the entire width of the body with integrated LED lighting and a raised bumper, and its spectacular stern demonstrates expressive angular lights climbing onto the roof pillars, with additional vertical sections at the bottom and a sculpted luggage door ...
In profile, the five-door has an extravagant and sporty knocked down silhouette with a long hood, a sloping roofline, colorful sidewalls with recessed door handles and impressive strokes of arches that can easily accommodate wheels up to 22 inches.
Size and weight This is a full-size SUV with corresponding dimensions: it is 4996 mm long, of which 3094 mm is the center distance, and reaches 1977 mm and 1623 mm in width and height, respectively. In the equipped form, the rear-wheel drive electric car weighs at least 2545 kg (which means that the all-wheel drive version will be even heavier), while its weight distribution is ideal (that is, 50/50).
The interior of the Cadillac Lyriq is designed to match the exterior - inside the crossover boasts a beautiful, "thoroughbred" and progressive design, and the main dominant here is a curved 33-inch display that displays more than a billion colors and combines the dashboard and multimedia complex. The stylish multifunctional steering wheel and the laconic "microclimate" control unit with the usual physical keys fit perfectly into the decoration. On top of that, the electric car has well-thought-out ergonomics, a premium level of performance and extremely expensive finishing materials (pliable plastics, leather, wood, metal, etc.).
