Ryan Gosling is gushing over the love of his life thanks to movies. The 43-year-old actor was awarded the 16th Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Jan. 13 and he gave a special shoutout to Eva Mendes and their two daughters. “Most importantly, I got to meet the girl of my dreams, Eva Mendes, and have two dream children. I dreamed of one day making movies, and now, movies have made my life a dream,” he said. Ryan’s entire speech was dedicated to films and the impact they had on him starting off as a young child, thanks to his mom, Donna Gosling. Elsewhere in his speech, the “Barbie” star thanked the two people who introduced him, “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig and his “Crazy, Stupid, Love” co-star Steve Carell, revealing why they both have been pivotal people in his acting career.

Star Wars actor John Boyega has given an emotional speech at a Hyde Park demonstration about the death of George Floyd in the US.
Boyega joined thousands of protestors in Hyde Park in a peaceful demonstration in support of Black Lives Matter.
The actor, who is best known for playing Finn in the recent Star Wars trilogy, referenced two other black Americans who controversially died in the US and the murder of Stephen Lawrence in the UK.

Democrats hoping to create a surge of enthusiasm behind Joe Biden’s presidential bid will look to Wednesday’s convention headliners to broaden the party’s focus from a multipart rebuke of President Donald Trump to a message of change.
Former President Barack Obama, a transformational figure for the Democratic Party who picked Biden as his running mate a dozen years ago, has top billing for the third night of the all-virtual Democratic National Convention, starting at 9 p.m. EDT.
Before Obama tries to tap into the broad coalition that elected him as the country’s first Black president, the lineup is set for America to hear from Sen. Kamala Harris in her first prime-time appearance as Biden’s history-making running mate. Hillary Clinton, another barrier breaker as the first female presidential nominee of any major party, will also speak.
Speaking at Philadelphia’s Museum of the American Revolution, President Barack Obama delivered a plea for the future of the Republic and a stinging rebuke of his successor in his 2020 Democratic National Convention speech. “Donald Trump hasn’t grown into the job because he can’t,” Obama said before imploring citizens to vote for his former vice president, Joe Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris.

The report of a USDA inspection at Wynnwood found multiple animal welfare violations, including several repeat violations. Among the violations, inspectors found the only refrigerated storage for animal food was a broken refrigerator truck that zoo officials claimed had recently been fixed. “The inspectors asked for the invoices for the repairs and were handed an invoice for a tractor repair,” the report says. In the Facebook post, the park claimed it had been targeted by animal rights groups. “The very agency that has given my facility five consecutive perfect inspections, has now folded to the pressures of PETA and continue to make false accusations against me,” the post read. Closing the park to the public will mean the animals are “no longer be subject to USDA inspections or PETA spies,” the post said.
