RNC Night 1- It was a night designed to appeal to black voters and moderate white voters. Many of the speeches attempted to humanize Trump and make him appear more empathic. This was likely in response to last week’s DNC where Joe Biden’s empathy and kindness was one of the big takeaways.
Throughout the night a bit of revisionist history was on display regarding COVID. Speakers tried to argue that Trump has been decisive and effective on the coronavirus by putting in the travel ban from China, trying again to appeal to the moderate voter who’s concerned about healthcare and the economy. However, that’s going to be a tough argument to win…especially as we’re heading toward 180,000 dead from the virus, a slow economy, and no end in sight.

Herschel Walker and Vernon Jones were the highlights of how the impact of President Trump has played out over the last four years. Herschel Walker a 37 year friend of President Trump and Vernon Jones a Democrat State Representative for Georgia. The night was very interesting.
